At conscious paper, winner of the Reborn upcycling design award, we are committed to sustainable living so that our future generations can enjoy the planet as we have. To do so, we will be strategically influencing the Sustainable Development Goals by United Nations, and will pursue opportunities to solve societal and environmental challenges through business innovation and collaboration.

Our mission is to identify new materials to replace existing paper, thereby, reducing the burden on our trees; make innovative and functional products out of sustainable paper and educate our associates & clients in implementing sustainable goals for their organization.

Our Story

PALAK SHAH SETUNGA

Palak Shah Setunga, also known as Polly, is the founder of Conscious Paper and a passionate traveler who thrives on exploring new cultures, cuisines, and connecting with people. Before embarking on her entrepreneurial journey, Polly spent 12 years as an investment banker with JPMorgan Chase Bank in India and Hong Kong. Her banking career equipped Polly with a strong foundation in financial analysis and strategic decision-making. However, her innate curiosity and love for travel led her to pursue a new path in life.

Combining her passion for adventure with her desire to make a positive impact, Polly established Conscious Paper, an award winning sustainable stationery business. Through her creative designs, she promotes eco-conscious practices and contributes to the global shift towards sustainability.

Polly invites individuals to embrace unconventional solutions for a greener future. Through Conscious Paper, she encourages people to appreciate the harmony between nature, creativity, and the transformative power of waste—a testament to the potential of unexpected materials in building a sustainable world from trash to treasure that is responsibly sourced and sustainably made.

Cork Cloth – Cork is a renewable resource that can be harvested without harming the cork oak tree it comes from,
Kora Khaadi Cotton – Kora khaadi is made from hand-spun and hand-woven cotton, which has a lower environmental impact compared to mass-produced textiles.
Used Plastic Water Bottles – This process of making fabric from used plastic water bottles is one of a kind and you can learn more in our charcoal catalog below.

Our products are uniquely handcrafted by artisans in local workshops in India which involves various techniques that have been passed down through generations. They are all designed to help reduce waste and promote a more sustainable lifestyle, without sacrificing quality or style.
